Jim Ruttenberg brings more than 25 years of experience with the Northwestern Mutual to any client engagement. Jim believes in the process: meeting with people to uncover their goals and objectives, analyzing those in the context of each individual's situation, making recommendations to help clients achieve those goals, and finally providing ongoing monitoring of the results. This four step process is the foundation of Jim's business, and it is supported by the service he provides to each one of his clients.


Jim Ruttenberg values working with a wide variety of clients that includes physicians, lawyers, business owners and other professionals in the Pittsburgh area and around the country. The focus of his work is on personal needs analysis, individual estate analysis, and business succession. With the additional resources available through Northwestern Mutual, the scope of his work extends to both large corporations and small, closely held family businesses in the areas of employee benefits, retirement plans, and investments

Jim Ruttenberg's Commitment to the Community


Jim Ruttenberg is actively involved in the community through a number of different organizations. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, and is also involved with the nonprofit organization Autism Speaks, which helps fund research, raise awareness, and strives to bring hope to all affected by Autism. In addition, Jim participates in fundraising efforts for the United Way of Allegheny County. Jim lives in Upper St. Clair with his wife, Lori, and his two sons Ben and Zack.
